Trash the Paper and Try Bar TV Advertising

Are you tired of papering your walls with signs? Ads for new beverages, meat raffles, trivia night; it never ends!  Here’s the kicker- those ads you are putting up on the wall…your guests look at them once or twice and then will never notice them again.

What if I told you that you can take down those ads and have nice, clean-looking walls? Well, you can, with in-house bar TV advertising. Now, I’m not talking about the digital signs in the bathroom; I am talking about using those giant TVs you have all over the place to get your message across to your customers. You have TVs, right? Put them to use to help you advertise!

For starters, let’s get something out of the way. I wanna talk about local, “community advertising”. Someone may walk into your bar and offer you free advertising and a free TV- yay, it’s free, and yes, they put a TV in for you for free. But, they also run ads for places all around your area, diluting your content in a pool of ads for Joe’s Lawn Service down the street and the local beauty shop. You’ll get maybe one or two ads every 10 minutes. Suddenly, that free TV is a waste of space, and you still have to put paper ads up all over your walls to get messages out to your customers.

If you want to reach your guests, in-house digital marketing is what you want. What is it? It’s advertising created for your bar and only for your bar.

What can you advertise? Anything you want. I have created content for:

  • food- specials and try new menu items,
  • drinks- happy hour, specials, new cocktails or beverages
  • events- bingo, meat raffles, trivia, music,
  • sports schedule

How it's done...for most services, you’ll get a player that plugs into an HDMI port on your TV. The player will connect to the internet via WI-FI. Content is created and sent it to the player. It can be updated promptly, keeping your guests informed of what’s going on at your place.

Using a dedicated TV is the best way to go, but you can always designate a TV to use, flip it to the game when needed, and then flip it back to your digital marketing player when the game is over.

Your guests are parked in their seats, socializing, talking, hanging out...do you think their reading the walls? NO! They are watching the TVs! So, use the TVs to advertise to them!
